Percy Charles Anderson murdered his girlfriend Edith Constrance Drew-Bear 21 by strangling and shooting her at East Brighton Golf Course, Brighton on 25 November 1934.

Edith Drew-Bear was found flaoting in a water tank on the East Brighton Golf Course on 25 November. She had died from strangulation but she had also been shot. Percy Anderson admitted that he had quarrelled with her and was arrested and when they searched his house they found bullets that matched the type that had been used to shoot her.

She had been strangled with a hankerchief after 5 shots had been fired into her body.

Percy Anderson said that if he did it he didnt remember it. He pleaded insanity.

They had gone together in Brighton to the front and then to the East Brighton Golf Course where they sat on the brick wall of a well. He said that she then brought up the subject of him smiling at another girl and then they rowed. He said then that he got a pain in the head then and didnt remember anything until he found himself in the sea.
